Singer Katy Perry came under fire for telling her dog to chase koalas in a promotional video for her Australian tour.
In the video, Perry appears with her pet and tells viewers how they can win a free ticket to one of her concerts in Australia. At the end of the video, Perry tells her dog: “Let’s go and chase some koalas, Nugget!”
The line sparked a serious backlash and has since been edited.
Perry’s comment apparently hit a soft spot within the country. Each year, approximately 110 koalas are attacked and killed by dogs, according to official figures.

US star Shia LaBeouf apologized on Wednesday for a racist tirade against police officers who arrested him on Saturday for public drunkenness.
The actor posted a statement on Twitter saying that he’s been struggling with addiction for "far too long."
LaBeouf's publicist asked for forgiveness, saying the actor is taking steps to get sober.
The apology came hours after celebrity website TMZ posted a video taken while the actor was being booked. He was seen accusing the police officers of being racist and told a black officer he was going to hell. The actor made several other profane remarks before being released on a $7,000 bond.
